For 9+ months we have waited for this day to come...to bring our baby home! We have prepared, cleaned and created a space for our baby to come home to and be a part of. Until we actually walked in the door and welcomed him into this space, did we have any idea of what to expect! No instruction manual was included! Out lives were changed for ever...for the better!
Thankfully, Gretchen and Wyatt were healthy and doing very well according to the doctors, so we were able to head home on Tues. Dec. 8th, a day earlier than expected. Arriving home a day early was a much appreciated gift! While the medical staff at the hospital was tremendous, we were ready to be in our own space! There's no place like home! Wyatt was a gem once he was home and his "big brother" Milo, our 4 year old cat, was a gem! Milo was skeptical of this screaming child, but was very curious and will become a protective big brother.
Wyatt has adjusted very well to his new home! While he is still mostly a eating and sleeping machine, he has his moments of comedy and relaxation in his bouncy chair! His demeanor is very pleasant and he wakes just twice a night for feeding (so far!), saving his parents from exhaustion!
After our first meeting with the pediatrician today, Wyatt is back to his birth weight, a milestone that is not typical until infants are two weeks old. He is growing fast! Most of all, it is such a pleasure to finally have our bundle of joy in our arms!
Gretchen is recovering very well. While her body has a lot to overcome, each day she makes strides and feels better! Overall, our adjustment as a family has been great! We are all loving life as a new family and can't wait for all of you to meet Wyatt!
CONGRATS! I totally know the feeling of being in your OWN home. I am so glad that Wyatt (and Milo) are adjusting. You two are VERY lucky to have a new baby that only wakes up twice a night...that is something that did NOT happen in our house until months after Sienna was born.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to meeting you little man! Take care! :0)
Andy, Gretchen, and Wyatt,
ReplyDeleteThe heartiest of congratulations to all three of you! Welcome home Wyatt. It was terrific being able to see these pictures. Such wonderful news of the expansion of your family. This will truly be a Christmas to remember. We wish you the best in this new chapter of your lives.
Love and Peace,
Uncle Tony and Aunt Nancy
