Gingerbread House

Downtown Portland

Every year since I can remember we have taken a family trip downtown a week or so before Christmas. We take time to enjoy the decorations around the city, the tree in Pioneer Square, a little shopping, a visit with Santa, and some lunch. I am happy that we are able to keep this tradition going with Wyatt. While Wyatt was not interested in sitting on Santa's lap, he did give him a big wave!

Santa

One of Wyatt's new favorite things to do is pose for pictures. He will literally go and get the camera and ask to have his picture taken. It is so funny! My Mom has this stuffed Santa and Wyatt decided to put it in his dump truck and then wanted to pose for a picture. Here is just one of the many taken at this photo shoot!

Wyatt's Winter Party

We had a small birthday party for Wyatt this year. We invited some family and friends to come help Wyatt celebrate turning two! I decided on a winter theme and had "snow" balls for the kids to play in, snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, and all the kids got to make an ornament for their Christmas tree. Wyatt had a blast and loved having hot chocolate and cookies with his favorite people!

Multnomah Falls

During the last week of my Summer vacation we decided to take a few day trips to try and full fill our Summer to do list. We headed up the George to Multnomah Falls for a short hike. The Falls are always beautiful, even on rainy days. But that day was not rainy at all, it was gorgeous and warm! Wyatt took a ride in the Ergo, enjoyed looking at nature and having a snack during the hike. After our quick trip up the steep path we hiked back to the car and headed a little further into the George, to Hood River and had a great lunch at Full Sail Brewery! It was a great day and a beautiful drive!

Children"s Museum
Summer was coming to a close and one of the things I wanted to do with Wyatt was take him to the Children's Museum. I knew he would love it; but wanted to avoid the crowds because he can get a little wild when he gets excited :) He had a blast! He especially loved the water room and the transportation room; mainly the train table!

MAUI!!!!!!
We got the chance to go to Maui this summer with the whole family; Us 3, Grandma and Grandpa Cook and Auntie Erin. We were there for 11 days and had an amazing time! We played on the beach, we went swimming, snorkeling, hiking, to the aquarium, out to eat and relaxed every day in the sun! Wyatt had an absolute blast! His favorites became playing in the pool and digging in the sand. Here are just a few, of the many, pictures of Wyatt enjoying the Hawaiian sun!

Graduation!
June marked the end of a chapter in the NW Erlandsen's life; Andy finally graduated from medical school! It was a very proud moment for me, after watching him start this adventure, go through the experience, and finally achieve his dream! For the occasion, Andy's parents came to town. We all had a great time celebrating this monumental achievement!

My Blue Chair
It's Been a While!
Ok, so one of my goals for the Summer was to get caught up with the blog and then to remain caught up once school starts. Seeing as Summer is just about over, the first part of my goal is just now happening! Let hope that I can keep up with the second part of my goal once school starts back up! Stay tuned over the next few days to see what Wyatt and the rest of us have been up to since April!

Easter
Finding Eggs at Grandma and Grandpa's
For Easter we spent the morning at our friends, the Flores. We ate a yummy brunch and then Wyatt and their oldest, Luna, we on an egg hunt. It was quite cute; Luna, being 3, was on top of her game. Wyatt, well, he wasn't so sure. He figured out to put the eggs in his basket, but then he realized there was "stuff" in them, and so he had to open each one to see; this slowed him down quite a bit! It was lots of fun though:) Later in the evening we went to Grandma and Grandpa Cook's for dinner and another solo egg hunt! I think Wyatt had a great Easter and lots of fun finding eggs! Here are some pictures from the day!
