So we decided to go for it! Go camping that is! We got brave and took our little man Wyatt up to Mt. Hood National Forest and gave him his first camping experience! Since we were not sure how Wyatt would take to sleeping in the tent we chose to go camping on a Sunday night when most people are heading home. It was a good choice on our part because we were the only campers on our side of the campground. We went to a cute little campground called Lost Creek near Ramona Falls. Shortly after we arrived and set up camp we took Wyatt on a short hike around the nature trail that runs along the creek. He was so relaxed out in the fresh air that he took 2 good naps that afternoon. He spent the rest of his time lounging in the pack and play watching the swaying trees and reading his books. He also enjoyed the campfire that Papa built and crawling around in our new family sized tent! (It's so big compared to our old tent) Wyatt enjoyed sleeping in his very own version of a sleeping bag, his bunting made by Great Auntie Gail, and then later sharing Mama and Papa's sleeping bags to stay warm. It was a cold morning and after getting bundled up we sat by a morning fire and ate some breakfast. After packing up camp we headed out for another short hike up the Sandy River and caught a glimpse of Mt Hood and then headed home. While we have some kinks to work out in our camping routine we thought it was a pretty good first camping trip for our little guy!
