First Fever
Well, it happened, Wyatt got his first fever. Luckily for Mommy and Daddy, it didn't last long! Wyatt woke up, just like any other morning but seemed out of sorts. He was a little crabby and hard to get to sleep with the usual techniques. Andy and I both thought he felt a little warm and decided to break out the thermometer. After figuring out how to use it, sure enough, it told us what we had suspected! Although we couldn't put our finger on what was causing this fever, we had to figure out how to comfort a baby that couldn't tell us what was wrong. We think he might be starting to teeth and combining that with his first little cold, it produced a fever. Our poor little man was cranky all day and just plain didn't feel well. Andy and I did our best to give our little guy the best comfort we could, and by the end of the day we were both exhausted! On a positive note, I got to hold my precious baby for over an hour while he slept! This is one of the best things for a Mommy and her sick baby! I am happy to report that the fever lasted just a short while and the next day Wyatt was a whole new baby! He was back to his happy, smiling self, which made Mommy and Daddy happy too!

Sad Day for Mommy!
Well, everything wonderful must come to an end some time, right? My job as a stay at home Mommy, aka, maternity leave, is ending. Today is my last official day at home with Wyatt....tomorrow I return to my classroom full of first graders. I have enjoyed being at home with Wyatt more than I ever thought I would and hope that one day I can make being just a Mommy my permanent job! I am sad to go back to work, but knowing that I have such awesome people watching Wyatt makes me feel much better. Andy will take care of Wyatt 3.5 days a week, which I think he is really looking forward to! On Mondays, Wyatt will spend the day with Allison, the Mommy of mine and Andy's flower girls. It has come full circle, seeing as I watched Piper and Quincy when they were little! On Wednesday afternoon my Auntie Chris, Wyatt's Great Auntie, will come and watch him until I can get home from work. We truly feel blessed to have such wonderful, supportive people in our lives, that allow us to keep Wyatt out of "day care" for now! Here is a recent picture that Andy took a few days ago; he is looking more and more grown up!
